Why Rebuild New Orleans?
Our culture.
Our economic impact.
Welcome
Beacon of Hope provides a model for recovery in neighborhoods devastated by Hurricane Katrina as well as other areas affected by disaster. Encouraging civic action, fostering repopulation, providing information and resources is the foundation on which we build and grow. Beacon of Hope empowers residents to facilitate their own recovery while providing a hub of resident driven activities and a safe environment to create the synergy essential for restoring viable neighborhoods and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
The Beacon of Hope resource Center aids in the recovery and repopulation of neighborhoods affected by disaster. The Beacon of Hope is a non-profit 501(c) 3 corporation. All donations, either in cash or in-kind are tax deductible and go directly toward the benefit of recovering neighborhoods.
We host a wide range of corporate groups, churches, community organizations, schools, and more. Our volunteers are the backbone of the New Orleans recovery process. Since Katrina, over 20,000 visiting volunteers have dedicated themselves to assisting neighborhoods and homeowners in the revitalization of local communities.
We've done the heavy lifting for you and have put together a comprehensive collection of great neighborhood and city resources to help you rebuild your home and neighborhood. Also, find out about our Neighborhood Beacons that serve to assist residents in community capacity building.
